Absolutely one of the best dining experiences ever! We went with our friends and everyone truly enjoyed it! The family platter was huge and bursting with flavor the kebabs were perfection and the chicken tawouk was out of this world. Every side, from the mutabal to the tabouleh, was fresh and delicious, and even the fries and rice were served in generous family-sized portions. On top of that, they serve fresh bread straight from the traditional oven, warm and fluffy, which made the meal even more special. The service was outstanding, the restaurant spotless, and the music created the perfect vibe to enjoy the food. This place is an absolute must-visit highly recommend to anyone who loves amazing food and a great atmosphere!

Honestly felt like a real Middle Eastern spot – super cozy vibe. They kept bringing out fresh bread, and it was warm and delicious every time. We got the mixed grill for the main and just moutabal as the appetizer. Both were really tasty and full of flavor. Simple, good food that hit the spot!

Went in after regular lunch hour. Food taste good and they were flexible in accommodating with minimal changes to the dishes. The ambience was good except the music played were a little loud for polite conversations.

We originally came here for that super aesthetic fire platter we saw on social media —thought it would be the perfect romantic “flaming dinner” vibe. But as soon as we sat down, we were told the Family Mixed Platter is meant for four people or more. Since there were just the two of us, they strongly advised against ordering it… So, we downgraded and went with the two-person set menu instead. The restaurant, Ayam Zaman, located right next to IKEA, is honestly royal-level luxurious. Every detail, from the decor to the tableware, screams opulence. I even joked that we were having a “King’s dinner”—the cutlery alone felt like something from a museum. Although we missed out on the flaming platter, the two-person combo was still a feast: two kebabs (beef ), one lamb skewer, one chicken skewer, a hot beef pie with juicy meat and spices, served with soft, fluffy naan and a fresh, creamy cucumber yogurt dip. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. But then came the infamous Abrica Coffee, highly recommended on social media . Honestly? A major letdown. It’s brewed with cardamom and saffron, and I think it was the cardamom that totally threw me off. The intense spice hit me hard—it was just not my cup of… coffee. Average cost was about $40 per person. Overall, the food was solid, but given the choice, I think I’d go back to that spicy grilled platter I had in Gastown a few nights ago instead. Still, if you’re into Middle Eastern vibes and luxurious ambiance, Ayam Zaman is worth a visit—just maybe skip the Abrica Coffee unless you’re a cardamom fan!

We decided to come after hearing about this restaurant’s signature dish: the Mixed Family Platter, which arrives at the table on an elaborate display with big flames. This dish alone has earned them a bit of attention on social media. From our perspective, the dish was certainly legit: The platter was an absolute sight to behold with its juicy morsels of meat piled over a bed of lush salad greens, pomegranates, and onions. The big pillowy pita breads were outstanding and made for a very hands-on dining experience. Our top suggestion is that you come after working up a serious appetite. There is a lot of food, so you will either need a lot of tummy space, or a few extra companions to help. It is an incredible experience whichever way you approach it.

I stumbled upon this place by accident. It’s a bit hidden away from the main street. The mutabbal was probably the best I’ve ever had, and the bread was fresh out of the oven. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between traditional charm and modern comfort. Service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food and culture they’re sharing. Prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. Definitely coming back here next time I’m in town.
